All seems to be good, until I enter my 11 digit Document Number. I keep getting the 'Following fields have limits' icon that reminds me to enter only 11 digits with no spaces. So I can't import. I've also tried entering fewer digits to see what happens, and still get the same icon. What gives?
I've never had a problem in prior years...

Please see the Help Article here that provides troubleshooting steps importing. The instructions mention Schwab but that is just for example purposes.
Thanks for trying, but this is the message/icon I keep getting, not “User needs to review security settings ....."
I've entered the 11 digits correctly multiple times. I've easily imported my TD Ameritrade 1099s in the past
Any other ideas?
To confirm, have you double-checked your TD Ameritrade account settings to make sure third-party downloads are authorized?
I am having the same problem and receive the same error message. HELP!
@jform - as MichelleLO suggests above your TD Ameritrade account has security settings that will allow a third party to access your account. You need to make sure those settings are allowing you to access your account through TurboTax.
Thanks for trying... I just called TD Ameritrade, and they said there are no security restrictions on their end.
The issue must be with Turbotax? But I've never had this problem in the past
Then it is possible that there is a link between them that isn't ready on our end yet. Sometimes they take until the end of February. Here's an article on importing 1099-Bs.
Thanks, Robert... I guess we'll see!
Me too. This is frustrating. Obviously many people are having this problem. It’s a TurboTax failure; it’s not the custodians.
Thanks - good to know I'm not alone!
You were right about things being fixed by the end of February. It works now, I am able to import
I am still unable to import my TD Ameritrade account to TurboTax 2022 (either premier or deluxe) at 3/4/2023. Please advise.
Thanks,
Sam
You may want to check and make sure your financial institution or brokerage is a TurboTax 1099 partner. If it is and you are still having issues, please see the FAQ link provided below for assistance. Please respond back here if this does not work or resolve your issue:
What if I can't import my 1099?
It gives options to import TD ameritrade but keep getting document ID error.
