YOUR A GOD!!! TY
I am having the same issue. Not sure why some people are having it and others aren't. It is not "user error" on Doc ID or Acct # either. Never been an issue before this year for me.
I realized that it does not read the characters in the doc ID. I tried putting in 11 number ones and it at least attempted to log into Ameritrade but said invalid login. With my doc ID it keeps saying enter 11 characters. Turbo support told me to enter it manually so they are not interested in a fix. I’m moving onto to HR Block after using Turbo for 20 years.
so i wonder why some people it works for and some of us it doesn't. I tried two different browsers as well (chrome and edge). that really stinks but then again, turbotax has never been one to support their product well.
This may sound academic - my steps were to save the turbo tax file, then exit. Restart TT, then go to the input screen for 1099’s and find TD, then put the all CAPS button on, hand type the doc ID, then hit enter. I have no explanation why it worked after doing that - it just did.
restart - are you saying you closed out your browser then restarted or you "reset" (clear out this year and start over) your tax return in TT and it worked?
No, I just restarted the TT program itself. I have the desktop version. I did not start the tax return over.
Yes agree. I am going to try HR Block instead of Turbo next year. Too many frustrates this year when using Turbo to enter my TD Ameritrade account data.
ALL CAPS WORKED........ YESSSSSSS
That did not help at all! Obviously they are partnered if they can be chosen from drop down.
Same problem until I saw the latest post. Capitalize the document id and it works.
Solved. I was inputting the letter O instead of zero. There were two of them. 😬
I have tried to enter the Document ID many times and I keep getting the notification that it should not exceed 11 characters. I see this is a recurring problem but do not see any resolution. How can I get the ID inputted so I can finish my taxes?
Please see What if I can't import my 1099? for instructions. Additionally, please keep in mind that if you are entering a Document ID it is case sensitive. So, if the Document ID is listed in all caps, you will want to enter it in all caps.
If you need additional assistance, please feel free to contact Customer Support so you can speak with someone who can assist you.
This NEEDS to be fixed in the future. I have no problem importing other accounts and NOT typing in all caps. This is specific to importing TD Ameritrade documents.
THIS IS A BUG.
