need updated 2025 program
text me program avaliable
no one is texting you about updates
s/w updates usually go out mid-week
most of the sections will likely come in January
There are two workarounds available while waiting for the IRS and TT. The forms view will function for some forms that step by step will not open. Or open last years program, rename as you "save as" and make changes there to eyeball 2026. Close enough for me to make decisions on taking RMD or Roths deadlines.
also you can try https://www.dinkytown.net/java/1040-tax-calculator.html
exactly~
That would have been useful 45 years ago, a little more complex now.
Schedule C apparently will be available on January 6.
This is indeed very frustrating. I'm very much considering going with H&R Block as an earlier poster did, but am not 100% certain Schedule C is available there, either.
To reply to my own post, H&R Block also is saying January 6 for Schedule C.
Argh.

Of course. People switch out (or threaten to switch out) of TurboTax to another provider only to discover that the issues are roughly the same as before. No one company has a distinct advantage over another in this particular, niche, sector.
From what I can tell, the early subscription and payment gets you nothing but a partial, limited function package. At least if I wait, my brokerage lets me buy tax software at a discount.
I'm not on Advantage but what I could tell it just gives the exact same s/w no more than 2-3 days before it's widely available anyway. Locking in pricing is questionable as to your point there are many discounts below Intuit's pricing whether it's Amazon etc or brokerage offers.
But I suppose it does provide other benefits...
when will the turbo tax 1099-r section be updated
1099R is estimated to be ready Jan 21, 2026.
Actually, this link is very helpful about release dates
I presume some of these forms will be released prior to the listed dates, but rather than repeatedly opening TT to expect some major updates I been able to isolate a couple of dates.
The first was Jan 7 and the next is Jan 14.
I suspect that some updates might happen before the 14th, but waiting till Jan 7th was very helpful
Opened TT and got a lot better interaction with step by step
At this point, without those updates I've been directly using Forms entry
Which is something I discovered on the boards here last year. Updates seemed late last year, and doing direct entry helped sort out where I stood for the year end.
