@jmax0910 Just checked the online editions, the Form 1099-R section is now available.
Sorry, just checked and it still does not work. It may be available on the online version, but does not work on the desktop version. Still waiting.

Online TurboTax updates are more immediate. If desktop hasn't yet updated, be aware that it may take longer for a desktop update to be pushed out to users since they are sometimes combined with other updates. It "could" happen in tonight's overnight weekly update, but that remains to be seen. Otherwise, if not then perhaps in the next day or two.
not working here either so the 1-21-2026 date has come and gone. Too late in the day to do anything on it. Really frustrating to be held up in things we need to get done. I needed to estimate my taxes to be sure I paid enough in but that is not possible anymore with this product. Last year for me with them after after about 30 years. I'm done.
Yea, am with you, have been with them for about as long and am really disappointed with this issue and the companies response.
1099-R was NOT ready on January 21, 2026
1099R is now available in the desktop s/w update this morning

If you are using the TurboTax online edition, clear cache and cookies from your web browser and try again.
If you are using the TurboTax desktop editions installed on a personal computer, click on Online at the top of the desktop program screen. Click on Check for Updates.
@denisoconnor re 8606 for filing (and 5329 for anyone interested in that for filing) I reached out to the moderators and was told that it is now available in TT Online, and is expected to be available for TT Desktop on 1/28 - which may mean 1/29 if it's part of the weekly s/w release as we learned last week just allow a day or so between these dates and when you might be able to get the s/w update.
Hello. I've reached out to TT three times to get some items fixed.
1. Dependent is still not showing as dependent despite it saying good news you qualify for a tax break. Rep said no idea why it is not showing and to wait for update which should have been today, but which didn't come. This is a SOFTWARE ERROR.
2. Cannot efile 1099 NEC report. Again, rep said it is a browser problem (NO, it is a TT problem!) As other returns show efile option.
3. Also TT said payments to attorney's over $10 must be reported on 1099 NEC, but IRS says payments must be over $600.
4. Today, filing day, TT update STILL not available.
#1 We need more info on your dependent. Where is it not showing up? On the first page of the 1040? What boxes are checked for them under Dependents? Maybe they don’t qualify for the EIC or Child Tax Credit or the Additional Credit? What’s their age and did they have any income?
There are a couple questions you could have answered wrong under My Info. Click on My Info then click Edit by Dependents, then click Edit by their name and go though all the screens again. First of all check their date of birth. Also you need to enter a ssn for them. And say their ssn is valid for employment.
#2 Efile 1099NEC. Are you using the Desktop Windows program? If you use the Desktop Create Forms you can only print and mail the 1099NEC and 1096.
#3 Where does Turbo Tax say you need a 1099NEC for $10? Are you receiving the income or paying it? A 1099NEC is only needed for $600 or more. 1099s for interest and dividends are issued for $10 or more. BUT you must report all your income no matter how small even if you don’t get a 1099NEC or 1099 INT or 1099DIV.
So I went through the questionnaire with the rep several times and each time answered correctly and go the message that person qualified for dependent. Not going to post it all here. But later it said no dependent. So error is in software. Rep didn't understand why either just said an update would fix it. And that update would be today. So far no update.
1099NEC was efiled last year, so possible with my version. Again was told update today would fix.
Also told that update would fix Energy Savings credit not able to be accessed yet.
No update so far today.
Instructions for 1099 NEC said this in TT. IRS website said different. Yes I know the difference between a 1099 NEC and other 1099's.......
