If covid relief was taken in 2020 and you continued contributing to your 401k all of 2021 - is this considered repayment? Or at least partial repayment? Or is that done in another way?

Let me ask an expert - @dmertz would deferrals to a 401(k) account in 2021 be considered repayments to the 2020 Coronavirus-related distribution?
No. A repayment of a CRD is essentially a transfer or rollover with an extended deadline. New deferrals are not transfers or rollovers.
Hi CarissaM,
I have updated the my desktop software today. So it is the latest one.
Since you are the employee of the TurboTax Specialist, I wondering if you can give us a more like official response regarding the 8915-F issues ( related to 2020 covid disaster three years payment). The issue is regarding the final smart check that requires to enter the disaster name that is not exist or shall not enter per IRA instruction. Some people on this site found that if leaving the 8915E line 4b blank when asked or enter a space or something to the name will fix the issue and then the software will let you continue and file the tax return. People indicated that their returns have been accepted by IRS.
my question is that if we left 8915E line 4b blank/or enter "0", when asked to enter the number from 2020 8915E, then we did not follow TurboTax's instruction. Or when we enter the no exist name ( space or what ever) when asking for a disaster name, then we did not follow IRS's instruction.
Even IRS has accepted many people's return, I still wonder if this is the correct way to do it, or TurboTax needs to give us an official response on what is the right to do it.
I will really appreciate any help you can give us to clarify this.
I think I see the problem in your screenshot - the first line where you entered 100,000...
it says "do not include coronavirus related distributions" - so I think that line should probably be zero if the distribution total was 100,000 and you're paying tax on 33,333 this year. At least that's what worked for me.
TurboTax indicated the Coronavirus 1099 Distribution Form 8915F would be available for online filing 3/31/22. It is not. I had signed up to be notified when it goes live. I've received no communication. The form is live on two other online tax services that I've researched. I too will be changing services after 10 years with TurboTax if it is not available by this weekend. Very disappointed.

No, the website version does not provide a choice for Coronavirus distribution. I can actually see the form before submitting to file, bit the program doesn't allow me to check box D.
Follow the steps below and you should arrive at the question that will check the box. See the image below.

I'm using Premier and it's been available since 3/24. Other people are using it successfully now, it's just not very intuitive, so look for other posts on the steps to follow to get it to work right for you.

The program required an update on 3/31/22, when searching for the form it didn't show, BUT however the process is there.
1) go to income section
2) select 1099-R, when it asks "DO YOU HAVE A 1099-R TO REPORT", SAY NO
3) It will then ask if you took a prior year disaster distribution, select YES
4) it will then give you the option to check the box for COVID-19 and fill in the appropriate boxes for the type of retirement plan distribution based on 2020 for any amounts (so you will need that prior year form to reference) it will also ask about prior years for other disaster withdraws going back to 2017. The dollar amount will not show in the immediate suction but will be in the summary and on the 1040 to make the proper calculation for tax liability.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR INFO. IT WORKED PERFECT !!!!!
