I agree. The Trump tax cuts we're a joke. Making permanent tax cuts for corporations but just temporary for individuals. That was so shady. I'm more worried about the Chairman of Republican party Rick Scott talking about raising taxes on everybody. Especially low income.
I mean they lowered my middle class familys taxes significantly. They were not a joke to us and allowed my spouse to stay home with the kids at a critical time. Not interested in discussing the politics of it but it lowered many working class taxes
Wish I knew of the Form 8914-F delay before purchasing the software last week from Staples. Mortgage rates are going up and my rate was locked in for 30 days. Doubt they are going to wait around and extend my rate merely because I tell them, "but TT promised the revision soon." May have to switch to a costlier Plan B. Time is money. Boo TT.....
@KBPC If you have a mortgage rate at stake it might be worth it to forfeit the $50 or so and use something else. Also, every bank I’ve ever worked with would use the 2 years prior (before last tax year) if it was before tax day and I hadn’t filed yet (and would use pay stubs to verify current income). They shouldn’t be expecting it before 4/18.
Really? you must be at the high end of Middle Class then. I am at lower end and taxes significantly went up and same with my mom but she is in the lower class.
"Not Everybody owe taxes for 2021"
Everybody waiting for Form 8915-F owes taxes unless they paid the distribution back before filing.
It's just a question of will their withholding cover it.
"50%"
This is just a wild guess on your part.

I had no intention of starting a discussion on tax law but I suppose it's something else to chat about while waiting.
I agree as well. When I called Turbo tax to see when it would be available, the lady on the phone told me the IRS hadn't released it yet and they were waiting on them. Turbo Tax was also going to let me file my taxes without any warnings or flags even though I answered the questions correctly and it told me to revisit. I've been using Turbo Tax for years, but think I might be changing this year. Very disappointed in them.
I'm so pissed s my kids need this info for school, but I went and put my info into FREETAXUSA and they aren't great for complex returns I have a 1099nec and they just were screwing it up. But turbo has it right so I'm a just have to wait another week but this is absurd TT.
@Stoney09 You don't need this last tax year for FAFSA yet. The tax deadline is 18 April, so of course you can't be expected to have it yet for financial aide purposes.
Google it. Go read up on it, save yourself some stress.
I don't need for financial aid. My kids go to a charter school and need my tax returns every year. And they were need 2/10 and they keep sending emails so that's why I need them
@Stoney09 Same thin applies. I would call them and politely remind them of when taxes are due. I have never filed before 01 April because of having to wait for K-1 partnership income. That form does not get sent until March 15 or later by most partnerships.
I get that it is stressful, but you are in a very specific tax situation. You along with many others cannot be expected to file on 01 Feb when W2s are released. The charter school simply needs to wait. It wouldn't hurt to tell them so, in my opinion.
I haven't gotten a chance to let them know yet but hopefully, it will be fine I can't do anything about it. On the school website when they said we need info by 2/10/22 I was shocked!
It's been several weeks since form 8915-F has been released by the IRS. Hopefully my > $10,000 can be completed soon.

Form 8915-F, Qualified Disaster Retirement Plan Distributions and Retirements will be available on 03/24/2022
Did you get 3/24 from Turbo tax? They have been telling me all sorts of dates. First it was a few weeks ago. Then they said 3/17, then by 3/31 so the 3/24 could be right but I don’t believe them anymore!
