Yes, you need to wait for your refund. At this point the delay is more than likely do to the workload at the IRS. If there was a problem when you submitted your return you would have been notified by the IRS that your return was rejected.
hi, it's 3/16 and TT is overriding the correct rebate for my purchase of a new Volt last summer. I am entitled to $3750. TT initially says it's $1825 but allows me to override it. but then it overrides it on the 8936 form back to 1825. I have a large tax liability btw; so i should recover the full rebate.
help, sam
i discovered the instruction from TT and it worked. delete cache and cookies. delete form 8936 and then reenter. thankfully, it worked.
You are welcome.
After the fiasco with form 8936, and finally submitting my taxes on 2/21, I received a letter from the IRS last Friday (3/13), which said that "the Forms W-2, submitted with your tax return, are insufficient to support the amount you claimed for excess social security and tier 1 RRTA tax withheld on your Form 1040." (I had W-2s from 2 employers who together withheld more than the maximum social security tax). So.... now I had to fax the IRS copies of the original W-2s (since Intuit apparently failed to do so), and I get to wait another "6 to 8 weeks" for my refund to be issued.
This is all making it REALLY hard to consider using TurboTax again next year....
