Same here. Reported to customer service.
Somewhat glad it's not just me. Thanks to everyone for posting.
It's the new NJ Sch NJ-DOP -- If you sold stocks, NJ wants to make life even harder. Even if as little as $26. Ridiculous.
Has anyone figured this out yet? I can't get passed this error.
Getting the same issue on deluxe.. I own no business.
So is the thing everyone on this thread has in common that we sold stocks? This error message still doesn't seem related at all.
same here, i am getting this message also and did not check off anything indicating i owned a business or anything of that sort. must be an error on their end.
I only have dividends in 2021 but still got the error. I guess it's not that related to investments
I also only had dividends but it seems this error is affecting people who reported dividends since the NJ Sch NJ-DOP form was released today. Still makes no sense, but wondering if that's the common thing here.
I didn't deal with stocks regarding dividends, but I did buy and sell stock last year. Seems it's anything regarding stocks.
After waiting (not very patiently) for Turbo Tax to correct the bug that would not allow me view or print my New Jersey returns, today I updated the software and was able to print the return. I should be happy, right? Nope! I printed the returns and saved a copy. After that I moved on to e-file my returns. I paid the $20 Turbo Tax charges to e-file. My credit card was immediately charged. They were able to get that to work just fine! After that I was rewarded with a message stating my NJ taxes are not eligible to e-file because of a Pass Through Business Alternative Income Tax Credit. Of course I don't have anything to do with a Pass Through Business Alternative Income Tax Credit. It is blank on the printed forms. I am not sure who Turbo Tax hired to code their New Jersey tax program this year, but that person needs more training. I sure hope this gets resolved soon.
The same problem:-(
I have never bought or sold stocks and I did not have my own business in 2021 and I'm still getting this error message. I work in NJ but live in PA don't know if that has anything to do with it. This is incredibly frustrating but I'm so glad I found this thread and I'm not the only one. Waited weeks for the forms to be ready and now this.
I'm having the same issues. it will not allow me to efile my NJ tax return
It would be nice if someone from turbotax could actually confirm this issue and a fix timeline here. Of course they make it impossible to report this sort of issue in any way beyond waiting to talk to someone on the phone.
How is there no medium in which to actually report easily reproduced issues with their software?
Is there a customer service number? I tried calling and it tells me I have to pay $29. Same thing with the online chat. I'm not able to help report this issue to anyone for free.
