TurboTax 2020 will require OSX 10.14 or higher.
That is so not right. How can you just make that decision and exclude those who have a lower running system? I have been an advantage member since 1998. My computer can't be updated passed High Sierra. Where does that leave me? I can't buy a new computer just so I can do my taxes. And I don't want to do them online!!!

What happens is that Apple removes support for older operating systems from its SDK (software development kit). That means that Turbotax, or any other software developer, must either use an older SDK (which may not be fully supported and can't take advantage of any new OS features) or use the new SDK and drop support for older versions.
I can't discuss the merits of the decision by Intuit to use the new SDK instead of an older one, but that is the decision that is forced on Intuit by Apple.
Unless you want to buy a cheap Windows laptop for doing your taxes, you will either need to buy a new Mac, or cancel your Advantage subscription and switch to Turbotax Online.
Could you have told us more clearly before we purchased this product?! Nothing shows up when I go to update my software-- I now have a totally useless 2020 package that I can't actually open. This is criminal.
