Okay, here's a good one:
Your suggestions worked..... well kinda sorta.
I was able to open the file!
Awesome!
Printed out first few pages, everything looking good.
Then looked at schedule C.
Ha
Suddenly I am making 4x the revenue I made last year 🙂
LOL.
I think I am in the Twlight Zone...
I wish I made that revenue last year!
But definitely way off.
What just happened?
Signed,
frustrated, but also somewhat humored
Clearly, TurboTax 2018 will run on Windows 10. Did you try Windows 8 compatibility setting ?
Well look on the PC for any other .tax2018 files. Maybe you have another one. Search the whole computer for all files ending in .tax or .tax2018. Check the recycle bin and For Windows 10 check the One Drive. Did you make any backups? Like DropBox.
Also there should be a ,tax file starting with a Tilde ~ sign in case your real file get corrupted. I would rename it and take off the ~ sign or it might not open on Mac.
You are awesome! Used the ~ file and it worked like a charm!
Totally appreciate the help, VolvoGirl!
FYI: I did not even rename it and worked fine. Interesting: the ~ (tilde) file was last saved about 1 hour before a number of other files, all saved at the same time. seems rather strange, but I am, at least for now, out of the twlight zone, so not going to over think this vs just having graditude.
Thanks for reporting back that the Tilde file worked on Mac!
I did not try the windows 8 setting, as you suggested, as I tried something else first that seemed to work. Your suggestion would have been the next. Thanks very much for your time and suggestions!
