To do this in TurboTax Home & Business you can follow these steps:
I found the answer for the desktop version of home and business turbo tax. at the top of the window go to TAX DATA which looks like a graph. click on that and scroll through the tax form until you find the entry you want to delete. delete the info and close the window. when you open it next, the misc info will be gone. 🙂
This problem still exists as of 3/5/2024. However, there is a work-around. Go to the Miscellaneous Income... line within the "Wages & Income" tab. The line should show the amount that you want removed. Click on Edit/Add. Even though you want to remove an amount that was entered, you have to act like you are entering a new amount. Keep clicking through the dialogs until you get to the one that has your prior amount filled-in. Delete the amount and the payer description if applicable. Then click "back" (do not click "continue" as it will not let you proceed without an entry) until you are able to get out of this section. Magically, the amount will be gone.
THANK YOU! How insane that this is what needs to be done. Completely hidden.
Don’t know who you’re thinking, but glad it worked out. TurboTax is such an awful product that there really needs to be some good competition for it.
Exactly, 3 freaking years since the first post, and all people going trough the same issue!
I will try this two fices posted, if I can't fixt it I wont put everything again from scratch I will move to the free software from the .gov.
its INSANE that turbo tax is doing NOTHING to fix this in 3 YEARS!
If you follow the suggestions posted here, and still have a problem, please post here again and state what version of TurboTax you are using, Windows or Mac, and which income entry from the TurboTax interview you used.
We at Intuit TurboTax want our users to be completely delighted with their experience using our products and services, and successful in their financial lives and businesses.

If you are using TurboTax Desktop, you can also leave feedback at the Final Steps tab:
I need to delete this form:
I was with turbotax over the found for 1 hour, going trought my taxes. and the lady told me over and over in a loop to go to Tools, under "Tax Tools", then select Delete a Form, and then "Forms 1099-Misc/1099-NEC Summary" I click delete, I confirm, I go back to Wages, under federal, and that form STILL there.
When you delete the form, you also have to delete any related worksheets. Is there a worksheet related to the income to delete in addition to the form?
@CatinaT1 not sure what you mean with worksheets.
When I go into that "Miscellaneous Income, 1099-A, 1099-C" (add/edit) I have this:
I'm talking about when you go into delete the form. You will use these steps to delete the related forms and worksheets.
If you are using:
@CatinaT1 you are horrible explaining.
I went to those steps, as I already posted. No extra questions about "worksheets" (term that you only use but turbotax has NO relation to that term in any part of the help).
I'm in online version. the desktop version asks for a serial number. (probably paid)
I had to jump in after my wife had a complete meltdown from wasting 1 hour and 20 minutes on the phone with a support agent who kept asking her to do the same thing over and over again. Now I understand why, the problem isn’t her, it’s the system.
This is a recurring issue, as you can easily see in this thread with dozens of people (comments and likes) running into the same roadblock. Whether or not Intuit wants to admit it's a real issue (spoiler: it is), they need to fix the software so users don’t fall into this trap, and more importantly, train their support team to actually help.
Speaking of support: every new rep jumps in without reading any prior messages (even from 20 minutes ago) and just starts throwing out random “solutions” that don’t address the actual problem.
Honestly? You get better, faster, and more sensible help from AI. The sad part is, some AI suggestions are outdated, not because they're wrong, but because TurboTax keeps changing their interface every other week. Still, this is what GPT-4 had to say:
“TurboTax is notorious for leaving behind ghost forms and half-saved junk that just clutters everything. If it’s starting to feel like you're breaking more than fixing, here are your cleanest options:
Best Option: Use the ‘Delete a Form’ tool again...”
I’m willing to bet that most people in this thread ended up doing the same thing: deleting the form and starting over. It’s frustrating, but not as frustrating as dealing with untrained, half-helpful support that doesn’t actually solve anything.
