Turbotax left Form 8801 first blank blank, hence my tax forms were rejected. What do I do now? Anyone else have this happen?

Does this form apply to you?  Form 8801 Credit for Prior Year Minimum Tax is used if you are an individual, estate, or trust to figure the minimum tax credit, if any, for alternative minimum tax (AMT) you incurred in prior tax years.  You can also use it to figure any credit carryforward to 2020.

If this form does not apply to you, you can simply remove it from the program.  Here are the steps:

In TurboTax online,

  • Sign in to your account, select Pick up where you left off
  • To your left, Select Tax Tools/drop-down menu
  • Select Tools
  • Under Other helpful links, choose to Delete a form
  • Select Delete next to Form 8801 and Continue with My Return to proceed

This is still happening in 2024...TurboTax has left Part I of Form 8801 completely blank for me. I'm using Premier version on Web. I've gone through all the standard troubleshooting, cleared cache and cookies, tried to delete the form. Endless loop. Nothing works. I called into support, and the response was basically "we are aware of the issue, nothing we can do. Thanks for calling in". Not even an attempt at a resolution. How is this acceptable?
