On Schedule A Line 8e is the sum of Lines 8a, 8b, 8c and 8d.
An amount entered in on Line 8a only results in Line 8e showing the same amount. An an amount in Line 8a and Line 8d show the sum of a and d. There are no errors.
Please provide a screenshot of your Schedule A (no name or SS number)

Line 8D was correctly shown in the "preview" pdf document. After filing, line 8d is blank ("reserved") and the full watermark reads "DO NOT FILE - FORM NOT FINAL". I guess I just wait for it to be rejected and try again...
When did you file this return?
After the tax return has been Accepted by the IRS, and it probably will be accepted, check the PDF of the Schedule A again. The watermark should be gone and the calculation of 8e will probably be correct. If not, please post back.
The IRS will start accepting or rejecting tax returns on and after January 27.
Above is how the document appeared before I filed, so all looked normal...no warning watermarks until after filing. I filed the return today. Thank you for the the insight. I'll download my return again after the likely acceptance and review Schedule A again.
Thanks!
Okay, I see the issue. The Schedule A with the watermark is the old Schedule A before the tax extenders were passed in December 2019 which also brought back the deduction for Mortgage Insurance. The Line 8d marked Reserved is for MIP. On the updated Schedule A Line 8d is correct for the MIP.
The IRS will receive the correct Schedule A and your MIP will be listed and included in Line 8e.
