I was on the phone for one and a half hours with TT. They do not have a solution. It means I can't use my new computer!!! It seems to me that TT should be discussing the issue with Microsoft.
Why don't they just talk to MS and solve the problem?
Does not work!
I too purchased a BRAND NEW computer because Turbo Tax would not install on my laptop with Windows 7 and had the same issue. It was extremely frustrating to realize that Turbo Tax would not work on that one without the 'hack' of changing the resolution. I tried calling but their help line is absolutely worthless.
Intuit has horrible customer service and should have fixed this bug when they new about it.
Changing the resolution solved the problem - THANK YOU!
I spent ALOT of time on the phone with support and no one was able to provide this solution.
activation window in hung up with a blue dot in the center of the screen. I need help
@rleeflury82 You can try the solutions in this link. If you need further assistance, contact customer support here.
Delete TT and start over. Before you do the install again, set your screen resolution to 800x 600. Proceed with with the install. This resolution will enable you to see the box to enter your activation code in. It should work very easily. Don't forget to change your screen resolution back to what it was. It was quick and easy once I found that. Good luck!
My installation and activation screen is blank and will not let me enter my license code. I have the CD version.

I have tried changing the resolution, rebooting, reinstalling, etc. Nothing works, I have wasted many hours on this. Based on the number of responses to my first post, this is a major problem for many with new computers. I do not understand why TT does not work on this problem and get it solved. Time is running out.

Are you using Windows?
If so, a blank activation screen may be related to either a scaling problem or screen resolution setting in your Windows settings.
In Windows 10 to get to the scaling or resolution settings click the Windows start button in lower left corner, then choose Settings (gear icon), then System, then Display.
Do you have scaling set to a higher value than the normal 100%? If so, change it back to 100%. Once the license code is entered and activated, you can later change your scaling setting back like it was.
If lowering the scaling to 100% didn't help, then it may be screen resolution. Try a lower screen resolution such as 800x600. If that didn't help, try a resolution of 1024x768.
Once you get the license activated, you can revert your resolution setting back like it was.

If you're using Windows, a blank activation screen could also be due to a scaling problem at Settings>System>Display.
If you already tried a lower screen resolution like 800x600, check to see what your scaling setting is. If it's higher than 100%, set it back to 100%. You can reset it after you get the license activated.
Many people have been able to continue by adjusting either the scaling or the screen resolution.
It's the second week in February, and the problem still exists. Thanks for the workaround though. Temporarily changing my screen resolution to 800x600 did the trick. Pretty lousy job of dev/test on TT end, and an even lousier job of a timely fix. Next year may be the time to check out the competition.
