State tax filings can't be paid with credit card. If you need to e-file state, use EFT from checking account. Federal always seems to work with credit card.
Thanks for the reply.
The desktop program has this provision to accept credit cards. When the transaction does not go through then a pop-up screen directs you to call Turbo Tax and give the agent your data, they issue a code to plug into the program to initiate the eFiling process.
If, you are telling me this process is invalid then I am confused.
My issue is Turbo Tax support has no clue how to make this happen, nor an explanation on how to proceed.
Further thoughts?
@mtarelka Thank you for letting us know about this experience. If you're unable to pay through the program, you can pay over the phone at 1-888-808-1723, or go to payments.turbotax.intuit.com.
Thank you for your input. My issue was the process you outlined "...call an agent" is broken. 3 Agents did not have a clue on how to process any eFile payment; 20 mins on a call, then a disconnect, 3 times! Finally, the last agent slogged through several iterations before final success. The agent was diligent but 59 minutes on the phone. Over an hour and a half to take a credit card for a $20 transaction.
This level of service/support is shameful. How much does this type of support cost Intuit? Plus throw in my feeling about Turbo Tax customer service. The product is very good, but the Turbo Tax business model is terrible.
I have used Turbo Tax for over 30 Years. I am not not a happy customer.
