Turbo tax is getting too expensive and not up front about costs and fees making the overall experience incredibly frustrating. Not going to file next year with Turbo tax.

My final year using turbo tax. The lies need to stop. I paid 150.00 to file my taxes that's suppose to be for FREE. Nope this is the end for me with Turbotax

You may remove fees that you are being charged or you may remove all fees and start over.

Review My Fees to find out what fee or fees that you are being charged.

• Down the left side of TurboTax, click on Tax Tools.
• Click on Tools.
• Click on My Fees in the center of the screen.

Now you can see what you have been charged.  This TurboTax Help will give you information on how to remove a state tax return and/or charges that you do not want to pay.

To remove all fees and start over, you can click Tax Tools, then Clear and start over at the bottom left of the screen.

It does work they keep into it by erasing your data if switch to a different program  that's crooked on their part

Of course I may. What I may not do is ignore the ceaseless subtle badgering and fear mongering that goes on encouraging upgrade. Also, the state return is ridiculously expensive. Just how much profit needs to be earned from each customer’s return?  The big refund pitch is ludicrous and hysterical. I get no refund sometimes I over pay and get that paltry amount back. I wished the government would have proceeded with the original plan for free filing for uncomplicated returns. And that my state offered a free electronic method. Ooo ooo if I don’t pay extra I’ll be audited is basically what my feelings have been for the last few years. Way to hard of a selling job. The whole process makes me feel dirty. I know I’m ranting but...

TurboTax makes filing my taxes fun. Seriously. I actually look forward to it every year (the annual refund helps).

But TurboTax IS expensive. And TurboTax is NOT upfront about what your actual cost will be (in 2020, they don't even tell you on the "Confirm Payment" page what your payment will be). I paid $180 to file a straightforward 1040 with itemization, and a little bit of self-employment income, with NO add-on goodies like audit protection, etc.

Absolutely!  TurboTax is crazy expensive and they nickel and dime you when filling out the sections.

It will not even let me include small business expenses unless I upgrade to the next product!

They force you to keep upgrading until you are paying the maximum amount, very bad.  

They don't honor any discounts either!  My American Express discount did not even work after I was suckered in.

I concur, after spending a couple hours on my taxes and seeing the cost, I'd rather give the same money to a CPA and have them do my taxes. The purpose of doing your own taxes is to save you money, not cost the same. If it's the same, or in this case, more, then why spend it. Not to mention this software is buggy and easy to make a mistake. Good bye TurboTax!
