TURBO TAX ERROR

Turbo tax replaced my first name with one of my dependents names and now will not allow me to change it.  If I edit it back to my name, program changes it back to my dependent's name AND/OR it will change on some forms but not others.  Not only is this a problem but also is messing up education deduction for 529 plan/QTP as in this area turbo tax keeps interchanging our names which changes how disbursements etc are calculated

Possibilitiies

1)   That can happen if you are using the Online, web-based software, and you prepared a tax return for her, and are now trying to prepare your own in the same Online account.  That's something that is not allowed.   Each Online tax preparation requires an entirely different account, UserID, and pwd.   If that is what you have done, you need a new account to do yours.   Unfortunately, if you've been entering actual data in her tax file account, you may have irreversibly ruined her tax file....so I hope you already have a printout of her tax file.

2) If you are using the desktop software, just start a new file from scratch.  Only the desktop software allows multiple tax files to be prepared from the same software set.

3)  Nothing above covers your situation?   Then call Customer support during their weekday work hours  (Must be using  any Desktop version....or Online PLUS, Deluxe, Premier, or SE.  Cannot call them if you are using "Free" Edition):
