The new UI is so bad that as a software engineer dealing with the UI every day, I do not even know how to see my transactions from different imported brokers.
After thoroughly reviewing all unrelated items and addressing numerous questions, I successfully entered the table format similar to last year's for my stock trading lists. Last year's UI allows direct access without the unnecessary silly steps introduced this year.

Are you saying that you somehow got around the terrible UI and got into a hidden area with the same format as last year?
I just checked, and found out Intuit has 18,000 employees. Unbelievable. This is not a minor problem -- this is a major problem. How this page and interface could pass even the slightest hint of a review is beyond me. It's very concerning how much went wrong here.
I completely agree with the vast majority of the users here. This "improvement" is HORRIBLE! Go back to the previous version. Making things "cute" doesn't make it better. Even the suggestion on this thread to go to the "Forms" is not easy to find exactly what you need to fix and correct if you have a large number of interest, dividends to enter. Also, the Payer Name and Account fields are not properly displayed on the capital gains section (which uses the older entry format) so it doesn't break out the multiple accounts clearly for tracking purposes. This MUST be fixed for the 2025 version or I'll probably have to try another company's product after that. Too bad, because I've been touting TurboTax for 2 decades now.
Unfortunately, I cannot bypass the current user interface to access the stock transaction list as I could in previous years. To view/edit my imported transactions, I must navigate through the new and silly UI.
I'm so glad I found this thread. I thought I was going crazy in that I couldn't find the old workflow.
I'm a software professional with multiple patents under my name. I am genuinely embarassed by the direction TurboTax has taken. This is truly awful.
I agree. The new view is slower, takes up a lot of vertical space, and wastes time.
The product manager who designed this new UI should be FIRED. Very Very poor design and extremely cumbersome to use. I call ed the 800 number. After spending couple of hours with them, I was send the following email which promised to solve this issue.
The phone number for Intuit's corporate headquarters in Mountain View, California is (650) 944-6000.
The link pointed me to this forum. So I called the number [phone number removed] which directs me to call the same support number that I had called before.
Fire the product managers who developed this trashy interface.
Oh boy, does this new interface suck. Why combine the 1099-Ints and 1099-Divs info one ungainly list? Why display the huge, useless boxes for each record. Why take away the nice, succinct and easy to use "I'll pick want I want to work on" workflow? I give this UI "refresh" 1 stars, or zero stars if that's possible. After years of trying I think TT may have just pushed me over the edge to transition to something (anything) different.
Please TurboTax: at least give us a way to turn this hellish experience OFF.
I hope someone at Intuit is watching this thread and is going to help push for the right UI behavior as before.
Maybe it is a way for Turbo Tax to demotivate people from doing their own taxes and direct them to Turbo Tax Experts from Intuit to do it at an additional cost. A very sneaky way of trying to increase revenues.
Way too many work-arounds for people that just wants to use TurboTax to "guide" them through filing their taxes. Once upon a time TurboTax took the first part of their name seriously. (just sayin')
I fully agree with you - I have a lot of 1099s as well and this redesign makes the process slow, tedious and cumbersome. I think I could have done my taxes faster by hand this time due to this awful Interface redesign. I can't believe the simple design of prior years has been wrecked like this...
the new design is just stunningly awful
Totally Agree. They should provide a setting where you can select “list” to keep it the way it was
It's incredibly frustrating that you specifically payed for a desktop version, and you get something that looks like it was (badly) designed for an iPhone. And only in one section -- the most important one....you know, the one you spend the most time in.
