TT free edition

Would I qualify for TT free edition?  My return is very simple but my only income is reported on 1099-div and also a Roth conversion on which I paid quarterly estimated taxes on. I see that the free edition supports "limited" 1099s. What are the limitations?

TT free edition

Dividend income reported to you on a Form 1099-DIV is entered on a federal tax return Schedule B.

The TurboTax Free online edition does not support Schedule B.  You will need to upgrade to the Deluxe edition which does support Schedule B.

Go to this TurboTax website for the forms and schedules supported for each online edition - https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/online/free-edition.jsp#tax-forms

How much are the dividends?  You only need Schedule B if interest or dividends is over $1,500.

You can start in the Free Edition and upgrade if you you need to.

Or you can wait and use one of the IRS FREE FILE options when they open in January.

@ronroberts - a ROTH conversion is going to be reported on Form 1099-R, which is not supported by the FREE edition; it'll require the Deluxe version
