This year turbo tax didn’t ask about my healthcare insurance any idea why?

Hey everyone. Just wanted to give people an update. I filed my taxes with TurboTax on February 8th. As you can see from the first page of this thread, I didn’t enter my 1095A info because TurboTax never prompted me. As you can tell from my post, I was irate. I received my letter from the IRS around March 15th, and immediately MAILED the information requested. I didn’t even try to fax, since A) I had just lost my job and therefore my access to a fax machine, and B) people were saying they were having a lot of trouble getting through on the fax line. I finally received my tax refund on July 22nd, more than 5 months after filing, and more than 4 months after mailing my documents to the IRS. For everyone still waiting, all I can say is be patient and you will get your money eventually. Small comfort, I know.

My timelines are pretty similar to yours . This has given me huge hope that Atleast something is getting done. I’m in credit card debt up to my ears and my tax return is what I’ve been depending on to pay off the card. I can’t wait

Just one question.... did you get a notification that it was coming or did the IRS tool say that your refund was sent ? Or did it just appear in your account all of a sudden ?

If you look back on page 1 of this thread, you'll find my original message. I logged in today just to follow up. I got a letter from the IRS in the mail today; my refund has finally been accepted, and my return processed. What's it been, six months? After YEARS of PAYING for TurboTax, I think I'll give someone else my business next year.

Well now I’m starting to really get hopeful. Your the second person since yesterday to say they finally got their refund

I finally did get my refund last Friday, after filing way back on Feb 13.  What a nightmare this was.

I also have used them for ever and no refund or updates still. Mine was held due to health care and I mailed in paperwork.  You stated you received a letter? Why wouldn't they just mail the check also. They make no sense at all. Took the time to mail a letter but not include your refund!Anyway my question is was your taxes held due to healthcare? Was that your issue also?

Yes mine was due to the healthcare issue with turbotax. So basically, not only did turbotax cause the delay in the first place, but even after I sent in the required paperwork, the IRS screws up and incorrectly throws my return into a pile that gets labeled with errors, or something like that. I filed initially on February 1 and am really starting to lose my patience with the IRS. I already got refunded from turbotax finally and now, supposedly, the IRS will pay us interest because of the delays that we have to pay taxes on!

Update. After 6 months of waiting, I finally got my refund today, along with about $48 of interest. Turbotax gave me a refund as well, so I'm finally ready to put this all behind me. For those still waiting, it shouldn't be much longer. Call the IRS. I did several times, sometimes just to double check the accuracy of what I was being told.

Yes call them at 7AM (eastern) on the dot and you'll have very little to no wait. [phone number removed] was the number I called.

Just want to add this...I called the IRS this morning. The employee was the rudest woman I’ve encountered in awhile. I explained my situation and asked if there was any info she could give. She claims August 1st was the “reset date” for everyone so expect your 8 weeks of waiting to start on the 1st of this month. I told her that other people in my situation received their taxes in July so how was August the reset date. I’m not kidding you , she hung up on me . I’m going to try calling again Monday and hopefully connect with a nicer employee

I have been waiting for my return since March. We submitted our taxes in February. The IRS let us know a form was missing at the end of March. A form that the tax data software DID NOT ask for. I would most certainly like my money back. We are still waiting on a 5k return from the IRS because of this error.

How did you manage to get a refund?!?!  I have called regularly since March and get my request for a refund denied.  They keep telling me I "used the product" and don't seem to understand or care that the "product" is defective.
