I am filing my mom and dads federal return. Dad passed away in 2019. I enter his info as deceased and date he died in the info section. When I go to file this joint federal return only mom's pin and drivers licence info comes up, I cannot add dad's info. If I unchecked that dad is deceased, the option to add his info (pin and drivers licence info returns). I tried to efile without his info and it was rejected with this error: IND-032-04 - 'SpousePriorYearPIN' or 'SpousePriorYearAGIAmt' in the Return Header must match the e-File database. Is there an issue with turbo tax?

Time-saving Tip: If what you entered is correct and you continue to get a reject, you won't be able to e-file. There's probably a data mismatch at the government, or some other situation beyond your control that prevents your return from being e-filed. In this case, your only option would be to print and mail in your return.

The problem seems to be because Dad is deceased, Turbo Tax does not include the entry for his pin number. This seems to be an issue with the program. I got it to add Dad's drivers license information by going to the form section and manually adding it on the info worksheet. I even see Dad's pin info there, however when I go back to the section to efile, driver's license info for Dad now appears, but only Mom's pin info is there not Dad's and no place to add it..
What do you do in this instance? Why doesn't anyone respond when there is a programming error.
The IRS has eliminated the use of a PIN to e-file your 2019 tax return. To verify your identity for e-filing will use last year's adjusted gross income (AGI) as your PIN.
You fathers AGI is the same as your mothers because they filed Married filing jointly in 2018. You do not use the PIN you use the AGI.
If that is true, then why did I get this reply: IND-032-04 - 'SpousePriorYearPIN' or 'SpousePriorYearAGIAmt' in the Return Header must match the e-File database. Is there an issue with turbo tax? The AGI from 2018 was correct.
I have the same problem. My wife died in March 2019, before I filed the 2018 returns. I was able to efile our joint return last year. This year, for the 2019 return, I am again filing a joint return as the surviving spouse. My efile attempts have been repeatedly rejected by the IRS, with the notation: "IND-032-04 - 'SpousePriorYearPIN' or 'SpousePriorYearAGIAmt'." The AGI for 2018 is the only item TurboTax permits me to change. However the AGI is correct. I suspect that TurboTax has a programming error this year that is making efile possible. Of course, I learned this after paying $19.99 (or whatever the fee was) to TurboTax to also efile my state return.
Can TurboTax correct its error, or refund me the fee for state efiling?
Of course, I meant to say that the programming error is making efiling "impossible."
I went through the process to contact TurboTax by phone. While their only solution is to mail the returns, I did get the state filing charge refunded.
I am a surviving spouse (wife died in Nov 2019) and I get error IND-032-04 when I try to e-file my Turbo Tax prepared return. Turbo Tax rep and automated assistance has not helped yet. Help!
