I tried to import 1099B from Schwab and it failed. First a pop up opens which asks you to sign in using intuit account. Then, you get the schwab login prompt. I was able to login with my schwab credentials. I accepted terms and conditions page and hit submit at which point I get an error message that says "login is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later or call customer support." I have tried multiple times and the issue persists. Seems like a TT issue.
Spent 2 hours on the phone with TT customer service yesterday. Never fixed the problem. He admitted that it is a TT problem. They will refund your money but not anything for time spent.
Have tried for 2 weeks, to no avail. Just finished Intuit's supposed "fix" by triggering the third part access (was already toggled) at Schwab. Can someone at Intuit or Schwab provide a straight forward answer, instead of casting blame on the other?
Finally got it fixed. Lots of reboots, clearing caches and perseverance
It didn't for me either, I've also enabled the 3rd party access in Schwab. Turbotax needs to fix this asap!
It didn't work for me as well, It Feb 27 2022. I've enable thrid party access from Schwab.
Please fix this asap Turbotax team!
Thank you
Have you successfully imported 1099-B 2021 from Charles Schwab into Turbotax 2021? What did you do?
I still couldn't make it work.
Thanks,Mei
how did you do it?
Probably blind luck the way the day is going, but . . .
1. made sure the 3rd Party switch was thrown on the Schwab account.
2. Using Safari (I'm on a Mac), I cleared the cache and cookies.
3 Then rebooted.
4. Then logged in to Schwab and, Voila-- it let me in .
Good Luck.
I also can’t import from my Schwab and even after spending over an hour on the phone with support, they just opened a ticket. I’ve been using TurboTax on line at least for 8+ years now and if this can’t get resolved, I will have to look elsewhere for import to work: I have hundreds of transactions as well and can’t enter them manually. That’s not an acceptable workaround
I have tried to import 1099s from Schwab dozens of times. Schwab says my account is set up to allow this. Nothing works!
All this was done. Schwab confirmed access was enabled. Still no luck.
You are enabling access to your account information through this channel (OFX protocol). Access will be enabled with your login ID and password alone, even if you have activated a token or other two-factor authentication method. If you share your credentials with any third-party to access your account information, their activities in your account will be considered authorized.
Try to log out Schwab, exit TurboTax, clear your Chrome browser data, then log back in to Schwab and turn on the 3rd party access, then try to import again from TurboTax.
I did this a few times, and finally was able to import the 1099-B.
Good luck,
Mei
Thanks . I cleared cookies and history and logged into Schwab to turn off and back on again the 3rd party button. Tried to import and still failed with the same error:
“something unexpected happened and we can’t connect to Schwab &Co., Inc…try again in a few hours (590)”
Doesnt work for me. Windows 10. 3/3/2022. Seems there's a major issue here. Trying to find any info from Turbo tax or Schwab on latest progress?
