I e-filed my 2020 tax return before the deadline in 2021 using turbo tax. I did not receive an email stating whether my return was rejected or accepted. I used turbo tax again this year, but I did get a rejected message due to incorrect AGI. I checked my paper copies and entered the AGI several times after a rejection email.I then went to the IRS website and it shows there is no record of a 2020 tax return filed. I believe I should get a refund from turbo tax because I did not get an email either way. Now it looks like I have to file my 2020 tax return by mail. What is your answer?

For many years my husband & I filed as "married, filing jointly" and I've never had a problem with e-filing. This year I decided to file as "married, filing separately" and both of our returns have been rejected due to incorrect AGI. I even went to the IRS website & got my 2020 tax transcript and the AGI is exactly as I entered it so now I have to file by mail. We owed both federal & state and those checks have already went out on April but now my returns will be showing up separately. Is there anything else I have to put with the paper returns that states I'm not late, my e-file was rejected multiple times?
