To claim the stimulus, you can file a tax return and just put $1 in "Other Income."  You will then be able to claim the stimulus rebate on the tax return.

To do this in TurboTax, please follow these steps:

  1. Go to Turbotax.com and select the Free version of TurboTax.
  2. Enter your personal information in your return.
  3. Click Wages & Income and scroll down to Less Common Income.
  4. Click the Start button next to Miscellaneous Income, 1099-A, 1099-C.
  5. On the next screen, click the Start button next to Other reportable income.
  6. On the screen, Any Other Taxable Income? click the Yes box.
  7. On the Other Taxable Income screen, enter XX in the description box and 1 in the amount box, and click Continue.

To claim the stimulus payment:

  1. Click Federal Review at the top of your screen.
  2. On the screen, Let's make sure you got the right stimulus amount, click Continue.
  3. You will be asked about the amounts of first round and second round stimulus payments you received
  4. TurboTax will then calculate the amount of stimulus payment remaining that you are still entitled to.  This will show as a credit on line 30 of the 1040.
