My apologies this is Not a specific tax question, just looking for some advice and this forum has always had good advice. I have used an IPPIN for a few years since our company gave away all our W2 info to a scam.
I received my new ippin for this year in the mail. But the letter was open. Not sure it had ever been sealed. Should I be concerned and try and get a new one. The IRS web makes getting a new one very difficult.
Thanks

The IP PIN Is useless unless the thief has your SSN.
I would not be concerned ... you will know if there is a problem if the return you file gets rejected then all you can do is mail in the return with a letter of explanation.
