Recaptcha error on import

It is now almost mid-February, and I've got a package from one of my Financial institutions, but as soon as you put the package Id into Turbotax, you get this same re-captcha error message.

Not quite true.  Got the notification today from our firm that a new tax document is ready, and it's consolidated 1099s.  It's actually a few days later than last year (February 7th), so I'm not entirely sure that answer is spot on, except that it does seem an area of the system Intuit has ignored.

Yes!! This was the trick.  Shutting off "Ad Blocking" on Eero solved it.  Crazy.

Hi folks,

I had the same problem with every account I tried to download this morning. What worked for me was changing from my ad blocking DNS server (AdGuard's free service) to the default DNS provided by my ISP.  I followed the instructions at this URL: How to change Windows DNS server settings | PDQ.

My computer is completely up to date with Windows 11. TurboTax 2024 completely up to date, Download from many other sites data (other financial providers), but Merrill Lynch does not work. I assume this is something about how they interact with your software. Only they or Turbotax can fix this issue.

The computer is up-to-date. Even though it is not, it should not cause such a problem. Ad blockers should not cause such a problem. No one should disable their Malicious Content Filters or Intrusion Prevention systems, disable security settings in the routers, basically strip all their network security to "please" turbotax with faulty code failing to connect to the partner databases. Simply a bad implementation with no enough testing to sell the product quickly, and yeah when the users are tied with the purchase then they can fix the bugs. This is not the first time, last a few years turbotax was operating in this mode, selling buggy software then fixing bugs all the way till end of tax season! I remember for 2022 tax year they had a faulty import of Robinhood sales which they didn't even announce. After I filed the taxes on mid-march, I happened to open the Turbotax desktop app sometime in April and got a message that they screwed up with Robinhood import and I had to add an ammendment to my tax report with the fixed values.

Have the same error using Windows 10 also. Multiple financial institutions don't work including T Rowe Price, Stifel, Computershare. Some work like Bank of America. Fidelity Investments worked but Fidelity Netbenefits didn't.  I can download the paper forms from each of those sites so they are published. Turbo Tax is really not supporting their customers obviously.

My financial institution sent their summary documents already.  Intuit support told me it was a software error that is being addressed.

same issue here -- is there a number to call and complain? I've used TurboTax for years with no issues before in importing information.

same recaptcha issue when trying to import Vanguard data into TT desktop on Mac OS.

 

Looks like it might be time to say goodbye to Intuit's Turbotax

Shutting off ad-blocking on EERO also worked for me.  If you're running an EERO MESH network and have the ad-blocking turned on this is worth a try!
