Expedite the approval of this form. As another user has mentioned, it is available in more costly versions of TurboTax, which is, to me, an unacceptable show of bias.
Not a more costly version of TurboTax; it is available in the software products designed for professional income tax preparers.
VERY annoying
As a follow up, after using a competitors program my taxes were accepted and my refund has already been deposited in my account. Clearly the forms “not being approved for electronic use” is a TurboTax issue and not the IRS. No more excuses. I’m done using Turbo Tax.
I learned one thing from this, TT/Intuit does not care. I had always found the software impressive and thorough but I learned after close to 20 yrs of using it, I need to do something different going forward.
I assume other tax software will be able to import my TT files since I have carry over deductions, etc.
Other software should be able to import your data.
However, the question remains as to whether the firms producing that other software offer better service than TurboTax (or have other issues).
It may take longer for one form or another to show up in TurboTax for multiple reasons. Our goal is to provide you with the most accurate information possible. As part of this process, we communicate often with the taxing agencies.
For up-to-date status, refer your customer to the federal and state forms-availability articles.
IRS forms availability table for TurboTax individual (personal) tax products.
State forms availability table for TurboTax individual (personal) tax products.
If the form becomes available sooner than currently published on that Help Article, the article will be updated to provide the new availability date.
Ridiculous.
I'm also done with my tax and the only thing to prevent me from filing is form 8911. Not sure I want to try Turbo Tax next year. What's the competitor's software you use so I may give it a try? Thanks.
I've only used TT so far but the next best rated seems to be H&R Block software. Perhaps others can chime in.
By the way, one way to send the message to TT is for everyone to request a refund of their TT software. There is a 60 day unconditional refund.
If you do want a product refund, you can send your refund request here:
BTW, at least the date on Form 8911 is now March 10. Not acceptable but better than March 17.
TurboTax Deluxe Desktop said 8911 would be available 3/10, as of last week.
Today is 3/10. When I open up TT, now it says 3/11. Website as well.
Please work on getting this form available by EOD 3/11, and try to avoid changing the dates again if possible. Many individuals are held up submitting their taxes because of a form that’s been available from the IRS for almost two months.
We are almost there I think. I hope.
So if I have filled out the information and submitted my receipt and the tax credit was applied to my calculated return, do I need to fill out 8911 on my own or will TT do that for me when I review and file?
Form 8911 will be generated via TT if you filled in your charging station expenses during your TT entries. Most on this forum are more concerned about TTs slowness in being able to file based on the integration of 8911 on the e-file side of the software.
Today is supposedly the day but I just got up and have not tried to e-file yet.
