Most of us are not using the online version, so a different web browser has no application.
If you're using desktop, you can try a manual download. Sometimes the online update option does not preform the update. Here are instructions for how you can get the latest federal program update:
We don't offer manual updates for TurboTax state software. If you need to update your state, here are your options.
If the manual update does not correct the option, the other option is the "Type it yourself" option.
The super patch did not work. Very disappointing. I've used this product for years and it has always connected to ML with no issues.
You're lucky. I moved to Merrill and last year was my first attempt to connect...never worked.
This year looks the same.
I'm also having the same issue of trying to import Merrill tax info into TurboTax. Never had a problem with this before and can't understand why now. My Chase Bank tax data imported just fine. Actually a couple weeks ago when I was notified you could import Merrill tax data, it worked. But then received notice Merrill updated some of the docs so tried to import again and this time failed. Tried everything...deleting the first Merrill import data, using different browsers, clearing cache, restarting TurboTax. Just keep getting a popup notice when I try to import saying to call Merrill's 800 number which I did. Merrill said everything was ok on their end and that I should call TurboTax. I called TurboTax and they said it was Merrill's issue and gave me suggestions what to try which so far has not worked. So now just in holding pattern hoping over the next few days either Merrill or TurboTax will come up with a fix. Would like to complete my tax return but this import issue is holding me up.
I think it's on Merrill. Other banks downloaded fine. I have tried every day without success. What a pain to do if typed individually. I wonder why Intuit won't contact Merrill or vice versa to discuss the problem.
Finally resolved the problem after discussing with my Merrill advisor. Established a separate Merrill account for my wife’s IRA a few years ago setting up separate sign in/user name. However didn’t have official authorization to her account when setup. Advisor sent e-authorization for my wife's signature allowing full IRA access. Once processed, tried again importing all our Merrill’s tax docs into TurboTax using my wife’s username and password, and it worked! Everything got imported from all of our accounts! So problem solved as it centered on lagging access authorization doc from my wife. Even though we have separate sign-ins/usernames/passwords and all our account info is the same for both, TurboTax would only import using my wife’s sign-in.
Doesn’t work for me. I have only one user.
It is very frustrating. Funny thing is I had always used my sign-in, not my wife's, and info always imported to TT without issue until this year. I'm going to talk again with my advisor about this as I would prefer just one account sign-in since both of ours have identical information. I've had zero problem in importing Chase tax information...thus appears to be a Merrill problem they need to fix.
It is CLEARLY a Turbo-Tax issue, when trying to select Merrill Lynch TT only gives the option Merrill Edge, this is a separate entity from Merrill Lynch, both are under the BOA umbrella. After MANY tears with TT, if it is not fixed soon this will be my last.
If your financial institution is a TurboTax 1099 Import Partner, you would likely have been able to import your 1099-INT, 1099-DIV, 1099-OID, 1099-R, 1099-NEC, and 1099-MISC (without entries in boxes 8 or 10) by January 31, 2025, and likely have been able to import your 1099-B and 1099-MISC (with entries in boxes 8 or 10) by February 15, 2025.
However, if your brokerage issues a consolidated tax statement with several types of 1099s, which is common, you might not have been able to import any of your 1099s until February 15, 2025.
Check here for updates to the Help Article with this information. The Merrill entity currently listed as an Import Partner is Merrill Lynch-Merrill Edge. Contact your brokerage for clarification if needed as to whether tax documents from your accounts can be imported to TurboTax.
When importing, make sure TurboTax and Windows are both updated, and temporarily disable all anti-virus software (including modem). Make sure your broker does not require you to allow 'third party access', which you may enable in your broker account, if this applies. Some users reported that disabling security software solved the issue.

You're missing the point. Turbo Tax has removed the link to Merrill Lynch, it only has a link to Merrill Edge. They are different institutions.
And I have both Merrill and Merrill Edge, doesn't make any difference, can't access either one.
I will be looking at alternatives next year....two years in a row and TT can't work this out with Merrill/Bank of America.

I am also having this problem. This is on TurboTax Deluxe desktop. On windows 10 on a tower computer.
1) It is March 11, so 1099 dat is available now.
2) I downloaded and applied the patch no help.
3) I have changed my password many times.
4) I have talked with Merrill three times. Verified that there is nothing I need to to allow you to access.
5) My account is unlocked and I have logged into my Merrill account with the password I entered into turbo tax.
6) I asked about Merrill vrs Merrill Edge. They said there are different but the account info is the same. That selecting Merrill edge will get to my Merrill account.
7) I was able to download 1099 information from Raymond James with no problem.
😎 I have turned off my firewall and tried it.
9) All software is current.
Someone please get this fixed or tell me what how to get past this. I paid for Turbotax, expect it to work. I expect it to be supported.
Thanks for your help,
Clark Gregory
