My sons I claimed are 20 & 22, they worked last year, but I didn't see an option where I can claim them as working dependents. Can I still claim them, they too have to file taxes. My oldest is receivi

I don't think you can claim them unless they are full time students or make $4,150 or less a year (not including social security for welfare). My son is 23 and lives with me but made more than $4,450 last year so I cannot claim him as a dependent. Hope that helps.

You can claim them if:

  • They aren't claimed as a dependent by someone else.
  • They're a U.S. citizen, resident alien, national, or a Canadian or Mexican resident.
  • They aren’t filing a joint return with their spouse.
  • They lived with you the entire year.
  • They made less than $4,200 in 2019.
  • You provided more than half of their financial support.
