If the SSA-1099 has your son's name and Social Security number on it, don't report it on your tax return.
If your sons have other income and are required to file a tax return, you should report their Social Security amounts on their tax returns. If they have no other income, you don't have to report it.
If the SSA-1099 that is received has the child's Social Security number on the form then you do not report the child's SS benefits on your tax return.
If the child has no other income then they do not report the benefits they received on a tax return.
