My 1040 was rejected: error code S1-F1040-080-03

Turbotax will not refund. I submitted the form for the refund earlier today and just received a decline letter.   Grrr

So, after three IRS rejections (26, 28 and yesterday) I gave up and filed with TaxFreeUSA ($23.98). I received my acceptance this morning. TurboTax would not refund my $130, even though there is an exception in their return policy that allows for software errors on their part. I intend to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. As the old saying goes...Penny wise and pound foolish. To get their $130, TurboTax lost a loyal customer (7 years) who will never come back. I think that whoever monitors this discussion board has done a very poor job of keeping us all informed about when the processing error will be fixed. There was zero help when I went back into my taxes to try and fix them after they were rejected. If it were not for the wonderful Customer Service Representative (Mary) who tried her best to get me a refund, I would be breathing dragons's fire right now. With so much in life, we get to vote with our feet. A well managed company would have reached out to each of us and at least offered us a discount coupon for next years' tax season instead of saying "We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause"...and [we] will keep your $130.

I’ve used TurboTax for 14 years and I can’t believe this Schedule 1 reject issue has not been resolved?  Mine’s been rejected twice and it’s all due to the fact that I listed $12 in jury duty pay and a $38 class action settlement…really?  Where’s the admin for this chat?

Agree, shameful that they are not monitoring this discussion. Mine was for $4 in lottery winnings. I just finished filling a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I wish you good luck with your filing.

Yeah I have been using TurboTax for over 20 years and this is the 1st year I went to someone else over this issue. Probably won't be using TurboTax ever again.

On January 31 the software said the problem was corrected, I re-submitted, and was rejected for the second time after waiting 48h.  I was eventually able to have my federal and states accepted, on the third attempt. 

I've used TurboTax since 2005.  TurboTax charges beaucoup bucks, there are more and more problems every year (basic forms not ready, interface problems with the IRS MeF such as this one), too many upsells, and nobody who answers the phone knows anything.  Not to mention they helped Microsoft strong-arm people people off of Windows 10 this year.

No acknowledgement, let alone contrition or attempt at service recovery (forget a full refund)?  What a joke.  And joke's on me.

After 21 years, they have finally lost my business.  I'll be using FreeTaxUSA next year.  Buh bye.
