Multiple tax return in one account

Can I create one account with turbo tax and do multiple tax returns in my account, example, I do my kids taxes, in my account but under a separate return, I just don't have to have several log ins.

Multiple tax return in one account

When you use Online TurboTax, you get one return per fee.  Each return needs its own account and user ID.   If you use the same account and user ID for a second return, you overwrite the first one and lose it forever.

When you use Desktop TurboTax, which you install from a CD or download to your own hard drive, you can prepare and e-file multiple returns for the cost of the software.  You can e-file up to 5 Federal returns—more if you mail the additional ones.  If you have multiple returns to prepare for family members, Desktop is more cost effective.

Multiple tax return in one account

I have the desktop turbo tax and would like to file my child's return now, so that they may qualify for the relief payment from the Government, but have to wait until turbo-tax updates for the new filing date for my return and payment date.  Can this be done? Or do I have to file both returns at the same time?

No, you do not have to file both returns at the same time.  TurboTax is preparing an update this week that will allow you to enter July 15, 2020 as the payment date.

Who qualifies for the stimulus payments?

The payments go to almost any adult with a Social Security number, as long as they aren’t dependents of someone else. Those adults get the payments for the children in their household.
