If one was in the military in 2019 and the w-2 is from military earnings, but then was discharged before December 31, 2019, then what would one answer for the following questions:
1) Member or former military member?
2) Military Status as of Dec. 31, 2019? Active or Former
Does it matter what kind of discharge it was? Would one still be considered former military if other than honorable discharge?

Answer Yes to question 1 and Former to question 2, if not active on 12/31.
Thank you for your response!
So, it does not matter if one was active throughout most of 2019, it would still be former?
I ask just to be sure since I had seen one thread that had a similar question but was told to put active.
The category of discharge does not matter in this case, when categorizing oneself as former military or not?
