Louisiana State tax glitch in Turbo Tax

So we are having this problem for second year in a row.  The forms have 0 for Box 16.  You are suggesting just putting the numbers in on TT where there are none on the form…? Could there be such an ongoing problem with TT that has not been corrected?  I won’t use this program again

You can enter the exclusion in the LA program.  When the program asks, Any Other Income Exclusions? You will see your 1099-R federal income showing and you can use the drop down box. The income is then excluded with no further action required.

@Bluemoon1 You are posting on an old thread, this is handled easily. Thank you for your service!

Louisiana State tax glitch in Turbo Tax

Yes I struggle every year with TT. Saying I owe La tax and I don't. Same now in 2025. I have no clue where or how to fix this. The only fix i know is to not use TT. If they don't give a $h!t why should I give them a penny.

Please see the screenshot from @AmyC above.  This is an easy problem to get around.  Just use the drop down menu to select that your income is Federal Retirement income and you should be all set.

Thank you, but I never got that pull down for those options. I went back thru state several times and even started over. However for some reason any changes I tried to make did not take and starting over did not help as TT just carried over the same info.  I encountered several ,what I'd call "glitches".

I had state correct with "0" owed and I accidently deleted. When I went back it was now totaly different questions and said I owed $400. Lol

I think I need to use a different program to many glitches, to many peep having issues.
