If you are trying to pay your Federal Taxes due whereas the IRS or the State will take the payment off your credit card, change that to Direct Debit from your Bank or select that you will mail in the payment. You can mail in payment with a check or money order as long as it's post marked by the tax deadline date.
To solve this error message, if you are trying to have your Federal Taxes or State Tax payment deducted from your credit card, you will need to change that to either Direct Debit from checking account or that you will mail in the payment. You can mail in payment with a check or money order and it will print you out a payment voucher when you download your completed tax file. Sometimes it will not allow you to pay what you owe via your cc information.
There are literally thousands of people with this exact same problem, exact same error message, and it's been going on for years. Their "experts" say to call customer service. You call customer service and they tell you to call back tomorrow. You have to start the story over every single time.
Spents hours and hours yesterday and today trying to address the same issue. Different computers, browsers, cleared cache, etc. Tech support on the phone couldn't figure it out either.
And.... wait for it.... IT WON'T EVEN LET ME MAIL THEM IN!!! It won't take credit card pre payment either!!! I literally CAN'T pay them to even do it myself.

I am taking the standard deduction. I called tech support. They don't know what they are doing and are reading scripts. That is the only level of engagement available and Turbotax has not offered anything else.

I am having this same issue and called 6 different times to speak with TurboTax support with no success. I have tried clearing my cookies, rebooting my computer, different internet connection, different computers, etc. TurboTax just told me there's nothing they can do to help me and I need to create a new account. Very frustrating that nobody within TurboTax was able to solve this problem for me.
