I recently purhased, downloaded and installed TurboTax Deluxe for the Mac. Every time I've launched the application it's worked OK except for once maybe five or so launches back where it suddenly quit. On subsequent restarts, it's worked fine since except it keeps putting up this "it looks like we hit a snag" message from that one failure several starts ago... Across the top it has the titles of "Info", "Error Description" and "Privacy Protection” and down at the bottom is a check box (always checked until I uncheck it) that says 'Send all error reports automatically" and a button in the lower right that says "Send to TurboTax"... I don't intend to send such info to TurboTax and I always just close the window from the X in the upper left... but then, the next time I launch TurboTax, there it is again... This has happened in past years, at least one other time as well... But I don't recall what I ever did to get this old window to stop opening and stop with the checked "Send all error reports automatically".... The software seems to be working ok but for that one time when it suddenly quit... But this errant window continues to open... Why and how do I make it go away and stay gone??? Seems like a bug...

No... Launched TT Deluxe for Mac this morning and as it sometimes does, today it said it had upates and it "suggests" that I install them... Having no choice (and "no choice" has always been the only option going back many years) so of course I installed them, and I had a small hope that perhaps this old message that is now clearly coming up each time I launch the software would now go away... But no... Software is working and has worked every time but for that once when it just quit... I looked and the same thing happened last year... Exactly same message and all although that was under TT Premier for the Mac where this year I purchased and installed TT Deluxe for the Mac... I have a memory that last year it did finally go away although my notes to not speak to that... So, my guess is this isn't all that uncommon since it's even happened to me in at least one year past but it sounds like at this Community level, no one has any ideas... Surprising but ok... I got your link below... Shouldn't bother me to just live with it as long as it doesn't mess up my ability to eventually submit my taxes in a few weeks... thanks...
Ditto, you are not alone. I face this message every time I open the app, but I've never actually seen an issue. I'm pretty sure I saw this previous years as well. I have Turbo Tax Premier and I am running on a Mac. I've just been closing the window, but a resolution would be great.
To clarify, do you still have the same issue now?
Hi... I'm the original poster about this issue "It looks like we've hit a snag" from back in January, 2024 (about one year ago)... I work on a Mac and last year I purchased and downloaded TT Deluxe for Mac.. I had occasion to go on the Apple Discussion forums last year after I encountered this "hit a snag" error and I found a post that spoke directly to this issue and offered a solution. That forum post, from early in 2023 is still there and it is....
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/254645635?sortBy=bestIs TurboTax still telling you “It Looks Like We Hit A Snag?
Last year I followed the direction offered in that post (I don't usually do that but I got courageous), the direction being to quit Turbo Tax, move the folder
~/Library/Caches/KSCrash/TurboTax
to the trash and then restart TT... That got rid of that "it looks like we hit a snag" error and the above link goes on to say that error should stay away UNTIL Turbo Tax might crash again...
So far, using the 2024 version of TT Deluxe, I have not yet seen that message but nor has TT quit as it had done back in early 2024 (2023 TT version) and I have notes that I had encountered it as well the year before (2022 TT)..
Thanks for sharing the solution Ditto. It worked for me 🙂
Glad it worked for you... Be well...
Just wanted to let everyone that gets sent down this rabbit hole that I have now spent over 3 hours with support techs and the only resolution is pay by phone. I suggest that when you call in you immediately ask for that option and save a lot of your valuable time.
