check your w-2 input. maximum social security wages $132,900 maximum social security taxes that should be withheld $8239.80 (6.2% of social security wages).
Wages $50,000, amount withheld for SS is $3,100. Turbotax says the correct amount is zero. Clearly wrong!
Try deleting the W2 in question and re-entering information. That number is not a calculated number, but an entry number.
I am having the same issue. I did try changing the info and it still says the max allowed is 0
First, review numbers that were entered. Maximum earning subject to Social Security this year is $132.900 and the maximum tax is $8,240.
If an error persists, you may want to delete the W-2 and re-enter. To delete a W-2:
I did reenter the information and double checked the information...Turbo Tax is still saying that 0 is the maximum that should be withheld (and looking on help this appears to be a common issue, not just my issue) It is now giving me wrong information on my state return and not recognizing the amount that I paid in (again I went and reentered the information). REALLY NOT IMPRESSED WITH TURBO TAX this year. I guess maybe next year I'll go with H&R block
I'm having this issue too. Did you resolve this yourself?
Yep. Returned it and bought another product.
