Hello,
I am using TurboTax Deluxe online version. I completed my tax return and downloaded the generated tax return pdf. TurboTax says that since I don't have any income, I should be mailing my tax return instead of e-filling them? I don't see any instructions of mailing the return in the downloaded generated tax return pdf. How to get the instructions for mailing the federal and state return (Washington state) using TurboTax Deluxe online? Also is there some way I can e-file tax?
Thanks

If you have no income to be reported on a tax return, there is no reason or need to file the return.
I still need to file since I am getting premium tax credits for my marketplace insurance.

@alkasharma0739 If you have marketplace insurance and you have entered a Form 1095-A in the TurboTax program then a Form 8962, Premium Tax Credit would have completed by the software.
You do need to file the 2024 tax return.
You will need to add $1 of interest income so that you can e-file the 2024 tax return.
Click on Federal
Click on Wages & Income
Under Investment and Savings
On Interest on 1099-INT, click the start button
Enter any name for Received from: and enter $1 in box 1 of the 1099-INT
Got it. That would be wonderful if I can e-file. Yes I do see a generated 8962 form. So if I add $1 of interest income as you mentioned, I will be able to e-file both the 1040 and 8962 forms correct and do not need to mail anything? Also, how do I update the generated form? Do click "amend tax return"?

There is nothing for you to mail to the IRS after the tax return has been e-filled.
You do NOT amend the tax return to add the interest. You have not filed the return, so you only need to continue the return you were working on.
You may have to click on Add a State if the program thinks you have finished the 2024 return.
To access your current or prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/
When you sign onto your online account and land on the Tax Home web page, scroll down and click on Add a state.
This will take you back to the 2024 online tax return.
Thanks for the steps. I tried to follow the steps. But since my spouse has never been to USA, he does not have an SSN. So Turbo Tax is not allowing me to e-file. Can you kindly help me to see how I can get the mailing instructions for my Federal and State return?
@alkasharma0739 That is another wrinkle.
Since your spouse does not have a SSN or an ITIN you will have to write in the SS box for your spouse NRA for Nonresident Alien. The tax return can only be printed and mailed if the spouse is an NRA, it cannot be e-filed.
Great, thank you. Does Turbo Tax provide instructions on how to mail Federal and State returns? Currently I dont see the instructions in the downloaded PDFs.
@alkasharma0739 The Filing Instructions page for the federal tax return for the state tax return should have been included in the PDF download.
Try this -
To access your current or prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/
When you sign onto your online account and land on the Tax Home web page, scroll down and click on Add a state.
This will take you back to the 2024 online tax return.
Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen. Then click on Print Center. Then click on Print, save or preview this year's return. Choose the option Include government and TurboTax worksheets
When you print the return to mail there is a cover page that tells you what documents to include with the return and the address to mail it to.
Federal and state returns must be mailed in separate envelopes to the correct addresses. You must sign the forms in all places indicated before mailing.
If you are in Washington state here are the addresses to use for federal
If you are not enclosing a payment:
Department of Treasury Internal Revenue Service Ogden, UT 84201-0002
If you are enclosing a payment mail the 1040 to:
Internal Revenue Service
P O Box 802501
Cincinnati, OH 45280-2501
I downloaded the PDF with "government worksheets and turbo tax worksheets" option. But it does not contain the instructions of mailing, nor the mailing address. It seems the cover page is missing. Let me know if I am doing something wrong or if this is a bug with TurboTax.
May be I will use the instructions from the previous replies. Thanks.

Go to this IRS website for the federal tax return mailing address, by state, with and without a tax payment - https://www.irs.gov/filing/where-to-file-paper-tax-returns-with-or-without-a-payment
Go to this Washington state website for the Working Families Tax Credit - https://workingfamiliescredit.wa.gov/apply
