I keep having to repeat this.....but if you are monitoring this dialogue, please do something pro-active.
Shame on you Turbo Tax!!!
I am one of the thousands and am super frustrated. I (filing MFJ) have been trying to find the problem for 2 agonizing days and several rejected returns. Why was it only my wife's AGI that was wrong. I at least just found out from the IRS website that their 2020 AGI (return transcript) matched mine. Now, there is no human to contact to get the problem straightened out!! Glad I ran into your fix for the problem. Thanks TT, for no help other than insinuating that the fault is the customer's. And it is doubly irritating to read the TT employee in this string spout the same hollow advice with no apparent understanding of the problem. Now, hopefully the zero AGI will work for me.
I share your frustration. And glad you were able to break the code! Great detective work!!
All done with no help from TT.
TT, how about full disclosure on the efile submission page?
Cant you sense the frustration of your customer base? And, what about the silent majority out there that sill have problems?
PS what does "*a* links to members, content" mean?
I’m so aggravated about this problem. I’ve tried all suggestions to rectify the efile rejection. The 2020 AGI IS correct. I have been unable to find how/where exactly to change 2020 agi to “zero” so I can efile again. I spent a lot of time and money and hassle printing 2021 returns to mail, high are late now. I did pay tax on time however. I suspect my problem is because I mailed return last year and it wasn’t processed in time. Regardless, being unable to easily find the 2021 agi field in this year’s online TurboTax, and correct it manually is ridiculous.

See this TurboTax support FAQ for correcting a 2020 AGI using the online editions - https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/agi/help/where-do-i-correct-my-agi-in-turbotax-online/00/26311
Where/how exactly do you change the 2020 AGI to zero manually? I can’t find a place in TT to do it!! Really frustrated!!
I tried repeatedly following the instructions in your link. I can find no place with the 2020 AGI in my current tax information. This should be much easier to find and fix!

Are you using the TurboTax online web-based editions or the TurboTax desktop CD/Download editions installed on a personal computer?
If you used the wrong AGI, your e-file be rejected. When you get the rejection notice, correct it and re-file.

Where do I find my AGI?
https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/agi/help/how-do-i-find-last-year-s-agi/01/25947
Your 2020 tax return shows your 2020 Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) If you filed a joint return then the AGI is the same for each of you.
Form 1040 line 11
If you are using the same TT account that you used last year, you should also be able to find this number in your Tax Home for 2020
If entering the amount from your 2020 tax return does not work, then try entering “0” instead. If that does not work and you still cannot e-file, then print, sign, and mail your tax return.
You can get a free transcript of your past return from the IRS:
https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript
Note: If you filed late or amended your return, your correct 2020 AGI may not be in the system.

Note: If you mail your federal return, you will also need to mail your state return. You will not be able to e-file your state return
I am using TT on my laptop as I have for 10 years or more. I know the 2020 AGI and I verified online with the IRS and I can see it on my 2020 return. That isn’t my problem. The actual location of the field to make the manual correction so I can efile is what I wanted to know. However, I’m done with this frustration now! I’m attaching my 1099’s, W-2’s and mailing the return!
Ignore
Yes, same exact issue. AGI is correct and last year mailed return for my spouse so no pin. I’ll try the recommendation of saying no tax return filed.
Again shame on TT.
Not fixed for 2022!!!!
If any adjustments were made to your return after you filed, your AGI could have changed. This can occur with either an amended return or a computer-generated adjustment. You can verify your AGI with the IRS by pulling an IRS transcript. To get your transcript, you can go to the following link:
If you've never used the IRS website, you may have to create an ID.me account. If your AGI matches what is on the transcript and you still have an issue, please respond to this thread.
I had no problems filing this year. to get them to file without erroe last year I had to say we did not file electronically for the prior year.
