@BrittanyS Thank you very much for the info! I will try to wait a couple more days before starting the work of doing it all manually. Any updates very much appreciated.
As of 3/18, still not importing for me. Says "1099 Forms unavailable for user," even though the PDF versions have been sitting on the etrade website since early February.
There was an update last night that MAY have solved your issue. Make sure you have the most updated software and try again.
I have PC stand alone version. Import from e*trade worked in the past years. As of 3/29/2025 (freshly updated) it shows the error "1099 Forms Unavailable for User", though they are there in e*trade. I read the thread above and nothing helps. Taken deadline is looming could someone fix it?
If you have tried the above suggestions and are running as Administrator, here's How to Turn Off Anti-Virus Programs, as it may be connectivity issue, with the message you are receiving. Another user suggests double-clicking on Etrade in the Search Results window, rather than clicking on 'import now'. It is true that the files you see online are not the same type as the files imported into TurboTax.
If you're using TurboTax Online, clear your Cache and Cookies first.
If you're unable to import, you can make a one-line entry for the totals in the 1099-INT/DIV sections, and here's How to Enter a Summary in Lieu of Individual Transactions in TurboTax Desktop.
In TurboTax Online, you can attach a PDF copy of your 1099-B transactions. Choose 'sales summary' and TurboTax gives you a screen to load your PDF.
Remember that the IRS already has copies of your 1099's. Reporting totals is perfectly acceptable.
