There is no fee to have your tax refund direct deposited in to your bank account. There is a fee to pay for TurboTax by having it deducted from your tax refund.
The additional fee, as someone already answered is to have TurboTax deduct the charge for state direct deposit from your refund. State direct deposit is not free. But if you pay the fee for state direct deposit with a credit card, you will get the full refund amount and not have to pay the $39.99 charge.
That's not quite right. The extra 39.99 Refund Processing Service charge (44.99 in California) is only to have the Turbo Tax fees for federal and state deducted from a federal refund. Not to get Direct Deposit.
