I have been using Turbotax smoothly and successfully for more than 10 years. This year (2024 1040) the e-filing was rejected by the IRS several times. Each time, I was directed back to my Turbotax program to fix what sounded like an ID problem for my wife (we file jointly) and I have tried to do what the IRS and Turbotax suggested. After 3 rejections, I am now filing by mail. My complaint is that there is NO system to file a complaint about the way Turbotax dealt with me. So, it's pretty obvious that this messsage is going off into the netherworld. But my complaint is (1) that Turbotax gave me about zero help in trying to fix my rejected e-filings, and (2) so when I finally changed to mailing the return into the IRS, Turbotax simply had me print the filing again and said goodbye. Nothing about where to send the filing or how exactly to mail it (? return receipt). It was like Turbotax just washed its hands of me. The whole thing about being rejected by the IRS was confusing to me and how to solve the problem was also confusing. I doubt I will ever use Turbotax again.
Anybody else have comments?
I assume it rejected for your wife’s AGI? If it didn’t like the same AGI from the 2023 return (same as yours), did you try entering 0 for her AGI?
