"Accepted" and "approved" by the IRS are not the same thing. It is very possible for the IRS to accept your e-file but NOT approve the amount of your refund or amount of the tax due.

TurboTax gets no information from the IRS after you file your tax return, so no one at TT knows what the IRS changed, and TurboTax cannot contact the IRS or intercede with them for you. The IRS should send you a letter that tells you why you owe more than you expected to owe.
I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM THE IRS/STATE

AUDIT SUPPORT
TurboTax has a special phone number for help with IRS/state tax letters, which will be easier than going through regular Customer Support. At the page below, click on the blue button that says "Get Help from TurboTax Support". Then it will ask you what tax year is your letter. Then it will ask you what the letter concerns. Then it will show you the phone number during posted business hours.
