You should have received a new IP PIN from the IRS by mail in either December 2021 or January 2022 to be used with the 2021 tax return being filed in 2022.

first, the only way to get the 3rd stimulus is via the 2021 tax return.  It appears on Line 30 of Form 1040

to retreive your PIN,

if you are unable to retreive it, then it must be paper filed.....

My return was rejected by the IRS. Now they are asking for my IP PIN. What is my PIN?

If the return is rejected because you did not use the IRS issued IP PIN  then you need to get it from the IRS so you can successfully efile   or  you will need to mail in the return.  

You should have received a new IP PIN from the IRS by mail in either December 2021 or January 2022 to be used with the 2021 tax return being filed in 2022.

The 6 digit IP PIN used on the 2021 tax return cannot be used for the 2022 tax return.  The IP PIN will not be shown on the 2021 tax return.
