I’m entering my w2 info and keeps asking me to review. My w2 shows under “employer state I’d” total state instead of an I’d number. What should I do?

To clarify, you are manually entering your W-2?

Sometimes the drop-down box Address type has been incorrectly clicked and provokes the Review.

To correct the lines on a W-2, follow these directions.

  • Down the left side of the screen, click on Federal.
  • Across the top of the screen, click on Wages & Income.
  • Under Your income, scroll down to W-2.
  • Click on Edit/Add to the right of W-2.

You may also try deleting the W-2 and re-entering.  Click the trashcan to the right of the W-2.

@garny87

Check the other W-2 tax forms in what you were sent......there is more than one in your paper W-2 set.

Occasionally an employer will indicate "Total State" on just one of them, but the other W-2 forms in your set have the individual state amounts and State/StateID , and it is the other separate state entry (or entries if multiple states are involved)  that you need to enter on that one W-2 software form.
