I keep having an error to review on the state, why does it have qualified educator expenses line item

I am not a teacher. I have no spouse. It tells me the line item should not have a value  based on my filing status. It is blank. It will not let me file though

What state tax return are you filing?

Is the error in the state tax return or the Federal?  Educator Expense deduction is a feature of the Federal tax return. 

Under My Info down the left side of the screen, what occupation have you declared?  Please clarify.
