I have not been in contact with my ex husband to know if he still works for the company he was with. I am filing single. Why does it matter?

That shouldn't be on your return.  What is it asking you for?  Did you get divorced in 2023?  You should start a brand new account for yourself and not transfer from last year. You can not remove a spouse or switch the order of names.

What do you mean by "ex-husband?"  Were you divorced by the end of 2024?    If you are filing Single now then you should be using a new account and user ID so that you do not keep encountering errors and aggravation from embedded "spouse stuff" that is in an old account that was used for past joint returns.
