Do NOT enter it as a 1099 R, they are completely different. Under the Personal Income section go to Interest and Dividends. There is a section to enter your 1099 DIV.
mlegois is correct, a 1099-DIV is different from a 1099-R.
Here is where you enter a099-DIV information-
Form 1099-DIV reports dividend income you received from your investments. To enter this in TurboTax Online:
Don't combine the amounts from two or more 1099-DIV forms if they're from the same payer. Instead, enter additional 1099-DIVs individually by answering Yes to Do you have any more dividend income from somewhere else? after you've entered all the information from your first 1099-DIV.
If you've already entered a 1099-DIV and need to enter a second 1099-DIV, select Add another 1099-DIV and follow the same steps above.
Form 1099-R is used to report the distribution of retirement benefits such as pensions and annuities. You should receive a copy of Form 1099-R, or some variation, if you received a distribution of $10 or more from your retirement plan.
A common reason for receiving a 1099-DIV form is because some of the stocks you own pay dividends, or a mutual fund you invest in made a capital gains distribution to you during the year. You won’t file the 1099-DIV with the Internal Revenue Service, but you will need the information it reports when preparing your tax return.
