Lankfordfamily - thank you so much. You’ve been the biggest help yet through this whole mess.
marylandtaxes.gov
if all fails with Maryland taxes go to marylandtaxes.gov e-file through them. comptroller's site
And the Compteoller is running for Governor???? Not good!
You would think they would note such on their website. Nothing there that I can see.
I cannot file either and have filed this form for the last ten years with turbo tax. I am in MA and NOT MD. I have tried to call 2x with no explanation or TT advice on when the form is going to be ready if ever. Currently, it says "cannot e-file". Where other forms it has a date when available this column clearly states "cannot file". This is not ideal because then it makes Turbo tax software inoperable.
Need to know soon if I need to find another way to file if they will have this available. HELP turbo Tax!
maybe this might help. i e-filed my Fed taxes only by deleting the Maryland e-file option. you do not have to e-file both at the same time. my fed e-file was accepted quickly by irs.
I have been having the same issue with form 8582 and I’m just trying to patiently wait to see if it fixes but I even re entered all my tax info but I got the same outcome.
Try e-filing ONLY your US Taxes and make sure NOT the state form. Then try to Locate the post from LadyGourmet about what to do with 8582. Then e-file the State. Worked for me.
Are you using the mobile or website? If so LadyGourmets method will not work as she stated she’s using the TT Software
This is a TT online glitch. TT cd let’s you fix the error, online version does not. Those using the online TT need to efile federal only with TT and file your state separately with another program or state website e filing, etc. this is the only fix. I had the same problem and filed my Maryland taxes in their website today with no problem.
I have the desktop version (home & office for mac) and just got my MD forms filed after an hour of trying. I went to the forms button on the top left and then clicked errors. Alternately I also found it by scrolling down once I clicked the "open form" button at the top. I couldn't' right (or left) click but I highlighted the offending zero and then using the edit button at the top of the program I was able to find the "override" command and delete the zero. That allowed me to file my MD return (I'd already filed my federal return). I hope this helps someone! While I put in my calendar to file my MD return on the 10th, that doesn't mean I'd have actually done it!
Exactlyyyy! I E-Filed My state today for free with MD Ifile. Thanks everyone for your help
Hey everyone in Md with issue 8582...
Heres a quick fix. When you get to the fix error screen and the 8582 message pops up.
Click on the form button in top right hand corner
Once form 8582 pops up click the box with that has 0. in it
Go to Edit button top left and click overide button
Go back to box and delete the 0. and you will be able to file taxes.
This is a mess. I've already paid for to e-file my state return through Turbo Tax so filing directly through MD's e-file by using a print-out from TT will work but it means I wasted money on a product I then had to troubleshoot my way around... Anyone planning to try to get a refund if they already paid?
