I received a 1099S form for the sale of my Mothers house. My mother died in 2018 the house was sold in 2019. I have the Deluxe tax return. I don't see anyway to do an Estate Tax return. Do I have to upgrade to the Business version?
Once I am able to do the Estate tax return I assume it creates a K1 form in which I report the gain/loss on my personal tax return? Is that correct?

To prepare a return for your mother's estate (form 1041) you need TurboTax Business. You can visit the following link to purchase TurboTax Business for 2019: TurboTax Business TurboTax will take you through an interview to prepare the estate return, similar to the personal (1040) products.
You are correct - As part of preparing the 1041 return, TurboTax will prepare K-1 forms for each beneficiary. You will need to enter the information from the K-1 into your personal 1040 return.
The first thing I get asked is my name? Wont that be wrong for an estate tax return?
Continue on, it is asking your name because you are preparing the return.
It looks like the 1041 form is used to file an estate tax. When listing the sale of the house, what form does that go on? Is it Schedule D or Schedule K1?
Thanks
I upgraded to the "Home and Business" version of Turbo Tax. I am now finding I should have gotten the "Business" version. Much more $$$. Is it true, I have to use the Business version for Estate Taxes?
Yes, to prepare an Estate tax return, you will need the Business program.
